The debut solo album from the lead singer of new jack swing ensemble "Guy", The Truth finds Aaron Hall offering 110% of himself to his beloved. Oftentimes his soulful pleas turn into incessant shouting - which I guess are supposed to indicate his undying passion - but ended up giving this listener a headache. Much like R. Kelly's releases from the same time, there's a fine line between demonstrating spiritual conviction for a cause and showing off. The grooves are smooth enough, the singer just needs to rein in his vocal approach. Released on MCA and Silas Records (Cat#: MCA Records – LSJD-10810, Silas Records – LSJD-10810) this 1993 release was a promising debut. Authenticated on discogs.com
