Petty entra definitivamente negli anni ottanta ( "Hard promises" era una specie di continuazione di "Damn the torpedoes"… ) e lo fa con un suono tipico del periodo senza però risultare fastidiosamente alla moda. Attualizza la sua musica, diciamo così… Ne esce un buon lavoro che scala pure le classifiche con "You got lucky".

Similar to Southern Accents - some great tracks, but not a stellar album.
Maybe not as consistent as some of his other albums but it contains some great tracks.
Underrated album; probably my favorite of his. Highlights: “You Got Lucky,” “Change Of Heart,” “One Story Town” and “Finding Out.”
Yea, I guess I agree with that statement, one of their lesser known albums and a couple hidden gems.

Powerful and beautiful at the same time, Petty is a superb songwriter and this album is the perfect combination of his amazing capabilities with his understanding of what moves the masses...
