With his second solo album after splitting from New Edition, the honey voiced tenor Ralph Tresvant still sounds like his voice hasn't changed in puberty, yet. That high pitch works against Tresvant's attempts to tackle mature "Loverman" type songs of which this 1993 MCA album is littered (Cat#: MCAD-10889). Songs with titles such as "My Aphrodisiac," "Sex Maniac," "The Booty Affair," "G-Spot," and "Sex-O" are somewhat like listening to a 12 year old discovering his first Playboy Magazine. Tresvant does increase his repertoire with rapping quite a few tracks which add a hint of maturity to the festivities. Not objectionable, but the smirk never left my face.
