Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites AKA The Lumineers have always been one of those oddly polarising acts that you either dig or loath and the comments here once again prove that theory accurate. For what its worth I’ve been a fan since 2016’s ‘Cleopatra’ and thought 2019’s powerful ‘III’ was one of the years best releases which was criminally ignored by the wider audience. Three years on ‘Brightside’ is another great collection of tracks, and coming in at a neat 30 minutes makes it impact without ever over staying its welcome

When we talk about albums being "above average" or "below average" this is it. The average album.
A pretty quick listen at 30 minutes and 9 songs. I did like the more electric sounding songs, most notably the title track. Still this is not a very surprising record if you're familiar with the band. There are a few songs that I keep coming back to though. I almost wish this was a little longer. Especially when Reprise is basically a rearranged version of the title track makes this album feel a bit small.
While not a perfect record, I enjoyed this record from this group. I thought it would be a repeat of the not-so-great things that we have received from Mumford & Sons, but I was pleasantly surprised at some of the cuts on here like "Remington," even though other people seem to hate that song. I enjoyed it a lot.
