The solo debut of vocalist Karen Carpenter as she branched out from recording with her brother, was originally recorded in late 1979 / early 1980, but shelved and not released until it was posthumously delivered to the public in 1996. Released on A & M Records (Cat#: 31454-0588-2) this features Carpenter trying different styles of music than she would ever attempt as part of the famous Carpenters duo. There's disco, soul and blues here. Backed, in part, by Billy Joel's band Carpenter presented her vocal prowess that hinted at what she could have been if she had survived her illness.
