Another masterful work by singer/songwriter Ryan Adams, full of heartfelt songs, delivered on a threshold that dips between folk and heartland rock. The name refers to a member of Adams' band who passed away in 2009. Though the songs may sound samey after awhile, Adams' passionate vocals keep the listener interested through a personal and emotional journey. Among the select tracks below, I also recommend Moving Target and Was I Wrong.
Highly recommended.
