After the fantastic last album Art of a Doubt with a fresh, stylish sound, I was really hyped, however, this just doesn't work. It sounds dated. As they got out of touch with current music, however, wanted to somehow catch up with it. Well... It didn't work out.

Ah good ol’ Metric the poor mans New Pornographers are still around cranking out their familiar electronica shtick. This one starts out ok with a strong opening quartet of “Doomscroller” / “All Comes Crashing” / “What Feels Like Eternity” and title track “Formentera” but unfortunately things quickly fall away with a host of duds to close out
How old are Metric now? I feel like I can carbon date the band by the opener "Doomscroller". Sad to see another kind of cool Canadian band fall into the 'BrooklynDad' twitter black hole. Did they just reference Qanon? Dance music that's impossible to dance to.
