A big moment and a big year of change in Hollywood, the songs from this album made this movie famous LOL...
I suppose there is some debate on whether you rate this as a stand alone work or as an element of something bigger. As an element I imagine it would receive a better score but as I prefer to rate it as a stand alone project I can’t recommend. The non S&G cuts are quite boring to listen to outside of the movie context, the melodic interpolations of classic songs don’t really do much in this context either, the only pieces that hold up are sound of silence which is on a classic album you’ve almost definitely already heard if you’re listening to this, same with April come she will. The only other fully fledged song is Scarborough Fair/Canticle which for some reason repeats which as great a song as it is, doesn’t add much. Best not to waste your time with this one.
