Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.3/100, a mean average of 72.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.2.

Everyone dumps on this album and yet I find it’s the one I play the most. Not sure specifically why, but it’s one of my Sunday morning records I consistently play. I don’t think there is a weak moment but I’m looking at the whole album not tracks. First side is stronger than second (sorry showing my age with records) but for me a great follow up to the first album.
Probably Peter Gabriel's weakest album. It's not bad but it's certainly not his best. Good songs though in, mother of violence, home, sweet home, and, D.I.Y. Gabriel's least essential record.
The dreaded sophomore slump. Probably one of his lesser albums.
Aggressive and with lots of feel and hooks. Made in UK in the punk era!
Angry artist in a changing time. Frippertronics too. Superb album!
A slight step back from his first album. Starts off strong, but slowly goes downhill from there.
