Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 45.6/100, a mean average of 42.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 42.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 28.8.

I feel like this album is what killed EDM, it was too successful. In that way, this album is very interesting. It’s everywhere all the time: the signature clap sound, the ever present synth bass, the cutely cringy chopped up vocals, the unnecessary sound effects. The album is a plastic, overly polished, colorful mess, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Unless you’re 80 years old (at heart at least) and think auto-tune is the devil. But unfortunately, in a big part of the album, it doesn’t really work out perfectly, but here and there (“Right By My Side”) her rapping and singing abilities fit perfectly together and you’re welcomed by a sudden masterpiece.
Oh well, any day I’ll have an album with an occasional 10/10 over an album in which zero risks are taken and is just filled with sixes. But opinions seem to be divided about that.

Her pop album, thought it was not as good as the first but still some memorable songs.

I'm entertained by the anger this provokes... It's just pop-music people. Nicki Minaj is better than most.

Nicki Minaj is built to last. Like it or not, her music is going to be a part of our social events for years to come. I'd say that half of these tracks are good/tolerable. I just hope that she ditches the Roman persona & the Lil Wayne collaborations on her next effort. She doesn't need 'em. Here's hoping that she gets some cutting edge rock to rap over next time.

Way better than the first one.

I give it a really good note whereas it doesn't really deserve it.

It's rewarding the audaciousness of artistic initiative and music quality which is pretty rare in albums that use to aim at being so stricly commercial.

Undeferential, sickly alluring, sarcastic while not really cynical though.

It's also rewarding, in some different measure, this fantastic backside mother nature graciously offered her, for her benefit as for the one of our eyes.

Let's hope she will not lose herself into complacency in the furutre, even if we may have good reasons to fear she will.

Shows glimpses of her potantial and contains a few catchy tunes but it really isn't great.

I think she has potential but this album just wasn't good. Sad, but that's just how I feel.

Right.. So I listened to this... Call it morbid curiosity I guess, but I kinda wanted to hear the whole thing, after being almost appalled by the horrific couple of songs I heard (namely: Beez in da Trap and Stupid Hoe). And I can't say I ever heard an album (i.e. in its entirety) that I would absolutely hate. So I actually thought this might be the one. But for better or worse it didn't turn out to be that way. A lot of this is totally decent pop, with plenty of catchy (if generic) electro beats. Her rapping voice still annoys me, but while singing it's produced the same way as any mainstream act these days, so.. that's the best and the worst thing I can say about it... Generic, uninteresting.. But not annoying or unlistenable.. I tried to not focus on the lyrics too much, which I think may have been a good choice.

The biggest complaint I have is actually in its length.. This doesn't deserve 19 tracks. Way too many. You cut out some unnecessary shit, and you get a totally decent album.. This way it just starts to drag towards the end. And it doesn't help that the album ends with the abomination that is "Stupid Hoe". I mean fucking hell.....

Sigh... but anyway, it is not completely disposable. E.g. Whip it, Automatic, and I guess (ugh) Starships, are some of the decent pop/dance tracks on here.
