For a brief moment during this era, Nicki Minaj could've been a real thing. But it was all downhill, and sharply, from here.
Pac and Big were rap signing while Nicki still looked like a human and not a plastic freak. Is she the worst heck no but she is far from great and Lil' Kim served her ass when she stepped to her and Kim was old and mostly out of the game by that point. Nicki is like Drke or many of the newer hit rappers way overrated and why many of us feel hip hop is dead or at the very least on life support. As for breaking down gender roles again Kim beat her to that by a decade and a half as did Foxxy Brown or even Missy Elliott to a degree. It's ok to like it if it speaks to you but please come correct.

What a surprise, people on this hipster-ass site hate this album.
This is one of the most important albums of the 2010s; it contains two important things where the 2010s stand for and she did it before it was a thing: the rap/singing multi-tasking, and breaking gender norms. Her rapping style is unique and inspired a lot of artists that came after, you might not like it, but you can't deny it's original, I can't stand to listen to Eminem, but at least I'll admit his flow was original. The only negative thing I can say about this album is that "Super Bass" should not be a bonus track.

The best song on this album isn't even on the album.
This album really is terrible. I TRIED to listen to it, but I couldn't, it's truly awful on the ears. Sure, she's not AS BAD as some of the idiots ruling the charts, but this isn't a good album, not by a long-shot.

She's really not that bad... I'd listen to her 10 times over some of the dreck that dominates the airwaves.
