Just came back to this album. And is probably the grooviest out of there discog. Also some of the sounds on this album come off as a dystopic rhythm game.

It has interesting moments, but misses something
2005's "Untilted" (not "Untitled") is probably Autechre's most mechanical and least accessible statement to date. The standout throughout this record is the aggressive percussion & the first 3 tracks are pretty damn good. Unfortunately once "Augmatic Disport" kicks in, the record becomes laborious (not since 1997's "Chiastic Slide" has Autechre's work become so) and although it takes steps to redeem itself with the final 3 tracks, the damage has been done. The production is exemplary as always, but this is their first record that hasn't particularly resonated with me. Nonetheless, that is one hell of a closing track.

Very essential. A worthy competitor for Confield. 30 years ahead of its time.
