To be honest, i was concerned. hearing Emily's covers of some of the older linkin park albums just did not jive with me, but I'm glad to say that this album blew me out of the water on my first and second listen. Emily has an INCREDIBLY good voice for the kind of song that they are making, and they lean into her strengths instead of trying to make her sound like Chester. (Edited)
The alt rock legends present this revival to their classic sound, with a new frontwoman. This is practically a love letter to longtime fans of the band. There are several solid tracks here, making sure his worthy of full LP listening experience.

Was unsure about whether to listen to this or leave them as a great memory but glad I did. Still got the Linkin Park sound we love and Armstrong as lead vocals works as she obviously cannot replace Chester so doesn't fall into the trap of trying to be him (Edited)
When you consider the fact it's been eight years, the circumstances surrounding the band and their legacy.. this album needed to be better. Too much of the safe, contemporary radio rock we saw predominantly on Living Things and half of The Hunting Party; a style which doesn't gel with Emily Armstrong's sensibilities. A small amount of the band's early sound is thrown in to save it from being a total departure from the Linkin Park most people know.. which I feel was more of a business decision than a musical one; for that reason I can't give it more than a 65.
