Probablemente uno de los mejores albums lanzados esta década. Josh Tilman se divierte con varios géneros muy agradables, un jazz experimental con tonos oscuros, un rock experimental que recuerda al mejor Velvet Underground de fines de los 60s, una mezcla de post-punk/garage rock y un techno que resultan en temas muy originales. Puede gustar menos como puede gustar más. Algunos títulos ciertamente no funcionan para todos, como Screamland. Otros fulminan como la mejor canción del disco que dura 8 minutos, o Mental Health, criticada por tocar sus temas de manera muy superficial, cuando en mi opinión FJM no busca profundizar ni dar cátedra de ello, sino simplemente expresarse, dejar salir lo que lleva dentro. El title track es increíble, una mezcla de folk, orquestas, muy muy sólido. El art work alrededor del álbum es de una belleza estética sensacional. Tiene algunos puntos bajos, es verdad. Being You es la que menos me convence. Sobre todo cuando le sigue la mejor del álbum. Por ello, puede resultar inconsistente. Pero qué buen proyecto rescatando riesgos y resultados finales. No es mi prioridad obtener este vinilo, pero seguramente será mi primer FJM cuando llegue el momento. Este o el Pure Comedy.
Decent overall sounds but some of the lyrics are so cringy they are laughable
I was never much of a FJM fan... but this album has a few good tunes and has good vibes in general.
