Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.9/100, a mean average of 77.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.8.

Sounds like Queens of the Stone Age mixed with They Might Be Giants, maybe even a little more experimental than the latter though. Solid album.
Fav. Tracks:
- Sweet Charity
- None Of Them Knew They Were Robots
- Retrovertigo
- Golem II: The Bionic Vapour Boy
- Goodbye Sober Day
As creative as it gets, you have to give this at least one listen.
Man I used to listen to this album over and over and over again. I think for an entire summer this was the only album I listened to. Total madness. The only song I don't like that much is retrovertigo, but the album is so cohesive it fits so it doesn't bother me too much. Ars Moriendi and Goodbye Sober Day are pure chaos
This cannot be told, it must be heard
You are going to the cinema watching a new unknown love story movie. While watching the movie it unexpected getting switched from a love story into a comedy, and a few secs later you are in a horror movie. And this goes continuous on from on genre into another, you name it and it's for sure there (Wikipedia: Hawaiian music, Eastern music, electro-funk, doo-wop, folk music, pop music, surf rock, circus music, psychobilly, kecak, thrash metal, lounge music, exotica, space age pop, jazz rock, avant-garde music, piano ballads and music influenced by science fiction, spaghetti western and horror film scores.). Never felled in love so fast with a new album before this, just BRILLIANT!!!
Ok, it’s really good. It’s as if Brian Wilson embraced his mental breakdown and records a metal-inflected follow up to Smile. I haven’t heard anything close to this creative and challenging in a long long time. So excited to explore the rest of their discography!
85/100 (Very Good)
What the f*ck is this deranged surf-metal opera. It’s not nescessary ou bad, just absolutely mind bending. I feel like I must be on some sort of drug
I don't know what the hell is happening on this album but I think I like it.
No words. Just none.....Just listen.
