Behind the Sun is okay and you can definitely see signs that they are a talented band based on this album, but let's be honest it's not a good album is it? (Edited)

It's always good to listen to the band with some their original members in the line-up, but they didn't really put out the best material with those guys. Still a good album, just not my favorite Chili Peppers album.

Still limited as a 'bunch of guys who like to party' band. The lyrics are growing, but still limited. However, the sound is good. This is the Peppers at their most loose.

This is the first great Chili Pepper album for me. It has all the pieces that made them very popular later on. Fight Like A Brave and Me and My Friends show their unique sound. Behind the Sun shows they can change pace.
