The Grates are (or more likely, were) a very snappy, spiky, and quite-catchy lo-fi pop-punk band from Australia. This is their third album, and since they made four of them and seemed to get better as they went along, this *should* be their second-best album. However, the production sound on this one is noticeably better than on their fourth and final album ("Dream Team"), and it's also just more fun, so... this is the one I'd probably start with, for those of you embarking on the Grates Voyage of Musical Discovery Tour. (Minor trivia: Grates' drummer Alana Skyring played with Crowded House's Neil Finn and his wife Sharon in Pajama Club, their post-nest-abandonment project.)
