A phenomenal compilation on par with Hatful of Hollow and Substance 1987. If you want to distill the first half of The Cure's career into one collection of songs, this is about as good as it gets, both as a review of their first six albums and as a collection of perhaps their best non-album singles (otherwise found on Japanese Whispers). Essential listening for anyone into The Cure. (Edited)
Alright compilation. Some of there all time killer tracks but a few others I'd classify as more in the filler category (Edited)
my favorite cure album. by far. so far. it contains 7 non-album (...) tracks so it deserves a life here on BEA on its own. someone said that side 2 sucks, but I really disagree.
If you are just beginning to listen to the Cure, then this is a great introduction. Songs are taken from early albums, so you will still need to check out later albums: Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me and Disintegration are the best.

The first 7 tracks are killers. The rest is much worse, but it's still a good review of Cure's early days. Well, and Charlotte Sometimes is there.
The CD version has more songs, but this alone is a godly compilation. The Hanging Garden and A Forest are the best tracks.
For some reason this is ranked lower than the original version, which has LESS tracks (cuts out 10:15, Play For Today, Other Voices, and A Night Like This) either way, this is a lot better than the other compilations by The Cure. This one focuses on their overall work, not just pop songs like Galore does.
Good intro to the Cure's early work.
My first introduction into Indie or Punk rock was this outstanding compilation
