Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 74.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

Scott is a genius. This album epitomises that in equal measure, brilliant and absurd. It’s brilliant and mad in equal measure and that’s what makes the man a one off. Not his best, that would be Tilt, but an absorbing listen nonetheless. Not for the casual listener or the faint hearted

A startling foray into absurdism. Horrifying, ridiculous, inventive, and weirdly liberating. I hesitate to say I enjoyed this, but if I'm honest with myself, the pure insanity is kind of infectious. Smile-inducing, even.

This album is like being inside the head of a madman sitting in an dark empty room while he's hallucinating and hearing things

A challenging album that demands all of your attention. Not for listening in the car on the way to work or in the background while sending emails. It's the kind of album that demands you just lie back and listen from beginning to end. It's heavier on poetry and sonic adventure than melody or musical pathos, but is always a fascinating experience. Many of the passages are beautiful, but you won't be tapping your foot.

Part genius, part nonsense. Mesmerizing and brilliant at times, at others a frustrating load of pretentious crap. If there is an album that is truly hit and miss, this is it.

Disturbingly beautiful album. This gave me chills the first time I listened to it. A worthy follow up to The Drift, if not better. His lyrics make zero sense, but I think they're full of really haunting and bizarrely beautiful imagery. And the music.... wow, just wow. The track "Corps De Blah" is especially beautiful, an amazing portrayal of a body rocking. My favorite and the best album of 2012 and a strong contender for best album of the decade so far, in my opinion. Now if only he'd release albums more frequently....

A really fantastic album. I'm surprised it's not on more charts.
