This is one of the great live albums. It's recorded on a beautiful hot summer's night in New York city, August 1991. The sunny weather really comes over on the record, and Paul Simon is on top form here. About a quarter of the set is taken up by songs from his then latest album, rythym of the saints, and they sound so much better here than they do on the LP, more fleshed out. Cool, cool river, born at the right time, she moves on, proof, and, the coast, all sound amazing. There's great songs from Simon's solo records, Graceland, late in the evening, and, diamonds on the soles of her shoes, are all stunning. Simon's old Garfunkel years aren't forgotten either, with, sound of silence, bridge over troubled water, and a beautiful, America, all here. A re-release of a CD/DVD package would be very welcome. Great music.
