Paul transcends the generations. He helped frame my love of the power and magic, the skill and the artistry, of the singer/songwriter in the mid/late 60s when I was just a boy from the western suburbs of Sydney - and then 20 years later - Gracelands comes roaring through the car radio speakers. As others have commented here: one of the greatest.

Always had a lot of time for Paul Simon, though I always preferred his early solo material to Graceland. One of the best singer songwriters out there.
Easily, one of the top 5 songwriters of the 60's and 70's. Prolific, and very, very good.
One of my personal favorites, since I've been very young. One of the greatest songwriters to ever take up a guitar. Sad that he'll start his farewell your soon but the man has one of the longest and most respected careers in the music industry, he deserves some rest.
Influential song writer and musician ! Deserves more recognition when it comes to naming greats from the sixties tbh! :)
One of the most prolific hit machines to come out of the sixties. On par with Lennon/McCartney, Uncle Bob, The Glimmer twins, Ray Davies and Brian Wilson. Influential in so many ways. Until Capeman I didn't think he was even capable of a dud. But into his seventies his music remains vital (a trick very few can brag of). A master.
Agree with most of the previous comments. Criminally under-rated artist. Great song writer.
Criminally underrated. His solo career deserves reappraisal. Sure, he's not as "cool" as Dylan; he's something of a dork in sweatervests, but just LISTEN. Brilliant stuff. There Goes Rhymin Simon is one of the best ever albums. Period.
