Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.9/100, a mean average of 73.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

The first 3 songs are brilliant and create a fantastic level of immersion for the listener. The multiple layers on these songs work together so well to keep the music fun, engaging and enjoyable to explore. While the other songs have this they do not reach the same level as these first 3 songs except for Dropped which comes close. There is still multi layering and complexity but it just doesn't fit together right and makes the album feel disjointed. It also makes the record drag with the second half being quite weak and I did find myself getting quite bored. Overall, this is not an album I would rush back to but it has its moments where it shines.
It's a nice album, it's not terrible but it also isn't as epic as a Radiohead LP, but it's still good.
Everyone of course this sounds like Thom Yorke's solo project. The reason the band formed was to initially perform songs from The Eraser live, a few years later they decided to release an album so that's why it sounds similar. Flea is so talented, you think the only way he knows how to play bass is the funky RHCP way, no he can do this too. This isn't supposed to sound like a brand new band it's a continuation of The Eraser. And it's freaking amazing.
Another underrated Thom Yorke album.
This is a massively underrated album. It's definitely a grower and deserves headphone immersion to appreciate the genius in the composition and layering of sounds. It needs to be properly reviewed only after listening to it at least a dozen or so times. A review on first listen is an injustice. The song Amok, for example continues to grow on me and I've listened to it many many times. Let go of your Radiohead prejudices and listen with brand new ears.
Default is a great song, and the creativity is tremendous. The problem is it just makes me want a new Radiohead record.
Very danceable and less over-emotional (less Thom Yorkey)...
Ingenue is a great tune. And the legacy of a great producer continues, Nigel Godrich!
Idem dernières prods de Radiohead , c'est prétentieux et sans grand intérêt ..
Well it´s typical Thom Yorke, it´s a nice album. Not great like Radiohead, but good enough.
it's pleasant, but nowhere near great. it's even more low-key and comatose than The King of Limbs
