My mind split with this album, mixed-bag format albums are always difficult to evaluate. I dug hard into some of the songs like Chunga's Revenge. Transsilvania Boogie, Twenty Small Cigars (too short), and Road Ladies.
This album is easily approached, but I think that the inconsistency caused this album to so low ranked in BEA-
I can't really understand why this album is sitting down in 29th position at the time of writing this. It is certainly one of Zappa's more 'normal' works. Some sublime jazz in 'Twenty Small Cigars', 'The Nancy and Mary Music' moves into more of a free form jazzz workout with some great fills around the incredibly large and ever growing drum kit! 'Tell Me You Love Me' has an almost 'rock' riff opening and injected with some great rockin rhythm and guitar work. 'Chungas Revenge' mixes subtle jazz with explosions of rock overlaid with quite typical Zappa guitar noodling. I would say this is probably the most accessible album for someone new to Zappa.

Dude this album rocks! Definitely should be rated higher! It's actually my favorite Frank Zappa album. I even have the t-shirt haha.
I'm surprised this album is rated so low. It's no Hot Rats, but it's not THAT much worse. In fact, quite a few of these songs are taken from the Hot Rats sessions, including the best among them - 'Twenty Small Cigars.' 'Tell Me You Love Me' is also very good - just mindless entertainment. 'Transylvania Boogie' opens impressive, but it devolves into a typical blues jam by the end - the title track is a more effective display of Zappa's improvisational skills. His trademark goofiness rears its garish head in several tracks, most of which are amusing enough, but at four minutes 'Road Ladies' asks a lot from the listener's patience.
