Aretha Franklin always gave her best to keep abreast of current musical trends. This 1986 release shows "The Queen Of Soul" going with the flow of 80s music through association with producer Narada Michael Walden and managed her second straight multi-hit album following on the heels of multi-platinum "Who's Zoomin' Who." Her duets with George Michael ("I Knew You Were Waiting") and Larry Graham ("If You Need My Love Tonight") were chart toppers, and "Jimmy Lee" showed she could blend with the times. Quite an accomplishment for someone deemed passé a few short years before.
