Pure X ditch their drugged-out, reverb-delay-distortion sound of their first LP "Pleasure" in hopes of reaching a "sharper", more-defined sound. Instead they ended up putting their vocals up at the front- no reverb or anything. While it was a bold move, it didn't pay off. His unstellar vocal performances, and tendencies to drift off into the more whiny side of emotional, the record ends up falling flat, tumbling down the stairs instead of crawling up.
