I appreciate a lot of the different ground covered on this album, although I still think it could be trimmed by a couple tracks and be a bit better for it.
What’s more worth noting is that this album features a few of the very best examples of Gira’s songwriting and a few of the very most beautiful arrangements in his catalog. Songs like The Garden Hides The Jewel reach similar levels of beauty as the best of the Swans canon, but do so with a different approach.
