Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.7/100, a mean average of 78.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.7.

This is so over the top gothic I just can't help but love it. Dark, gloomy, pagan atmosphere, something you can get lost in and simultaneously a lot of songs here are bangers.

Great gothic metal album. Best 10 songs average is 94,2/100 and the album can get great 95/100. Half of the album contains great songs: "Love you to death", "Be my druidess", "Green man", "My girlfriend's girlfriend", "Burnt flowers fallen", "Cinnamin girl" and "Wolf moon" all 95/100. Followed by "Die with me" 90/100. All other songs pretty good 85/100, except the unrated filler tracks (1,2,12,15). Clear favourite!

Far and away Type O's most gloomy, depressing and unrelentingly bleak album. Ir's almost TOO downbeat at times, but it really grew on me over the years.

The world's first (and only?) metal band that doesn't take itself - not to mention metal music - seriously, but who put writing good songs its top priority.

It's funny how most metal heads are surprisingly easy-going and even intellectual people, yet they often listen to music that is as insular as it gets.

There's really not much breathing room if you operate in the field of metal music - which must be really suffocating to an artist who sees little value in playing "Paranoid" for the rest of his/her life.

Thanks to TOP, more teens might be willing to take up on playing keyboards (instead of electric guitar). That alone is a massive accomplishment.

Simply a fantastic record through and through.
