Fantastic DFA sound, but it really lacks outside of the standout tracks.
Blind is a fantastic song with energetic instrumentation, passionate vocals, and slick melodies. I'd say the other tracks also share these traits, but to a much lesser extent. Still enjoyable the whole way through though.

Antony's voice was made for this. His crooning voice paired with Kim Ann Foxman's can really put the sparkle into the disco ball. Blind, You Belong (where Antony is near-breathtaking) and Raise Me Up are the stand out tracks with appropriate songwriting by the mastermind of the project, Andrew Butler. Hearty basslines, keyboards and horns fill out the juiciest morsels of dancefloor delights.

Antony's locals work amazingly on this. It's nice to know he can do the folksy stuff, but still do a disco-dance song, and make both work. Blind is the obvious best track, but other good ones include Hercules Theme & You Belong.

:O OKay, I'll give it another shot. Maybe I've grown! Update: There's no denying the talent here, and it is toe tapping, but it's still 80s disco. Best is whenever Antony is singing.

wrong freddie ! this is what's called a "genius touch", that mix between Disco and electronic/house could've at 99% just ridiculous, but Hecules and love affair is precisely in the 1% left.

Antony sounds much better here than on The Crying Light but disco died in 1978 and should have stayed dead. Soul sucking zombies!
