Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.6/100, a mean average of 79.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 79.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.3.

Great early AC is a many-sided album

Killer album! I appreciate the balance of Detroit rock n' roll with Alice's signature dark dramatics; Few Alice Cooper releases nail that ratio, and this is one of them.

Billion Dollar Babies & Killer are my go-to Alice Cooper albums. They don't feel (nearly as) forced when compared to later releases.

My favorite of all Alice albums. All killer, no filler with 'Halo of Flies' being the ultimate standout for myself. A heavily under rated album and a true originator of shock rock with 'Dead Babies'. 10/10

Alice Cooper is underrated and seems to not be taken as seriously as some other higher ranking hard rock bands. Maybe it's because his hit Schools Out is overplayed and a bit on the cheesy side. Schools Out is a pretty good album but nothing compared to Killer or Billion Dollar Babies. I consider Killer his best album, every song is great! It's definitely underappreciated the year it came out that's for sure. Easily in my top ten of 71. Halo of Flies is his best and most epic song. Sure Dead Babies is super dark but it's so damn catchy lol. Cooper himself is one of the most exciting front men in the history of rock period. He's like the definition of a rock star.

This is THE Cooper record in my eyes, with a couple other contenders close by. This was the best example of their garage rock meets psych sound with more of the classic Cooper theatrics/ominous tracks without going over the deep end in terms of camp.

If you're new to Alice Cooper or just know the hits, start here, it's great.

Even better than Love It To Death. "Halo of Flies" and "Killer" perfect their Progressive Garage Rock creation. But so many of these songs hold up well as singles. "Under My Wheels" is one of the all time lead off tracks...such energy. "Desperado" and "Be My Lover" are just such cool Alice tracks. The Alice sneer was perfected here.

Be My Lover and Under My Wheels are great songs, but there is a lot of lesser known stuff on here that is just as good (You Drive Me Nervous and Yeah, Yeah, Yeah). Dead Babies is also an oft-overlooked gem in the Cooper catalog.

Has a few pretty solid songs on it, "Be My Lover", "Desperado" and "Under My Wheels" are really good songs, but the rest are just mediocre. "Dead Babies" sounds like it's trying too hard to be shocking.

Alice Cooper are (and is) my all time favourite band, and this is my favourite Alice Cooper album. I also wore out several copies of this album on vinyl. For me there isnt a track below 9/10 on this opus, I love it to death...so to speak !
