A Chicago-based noisepop band led by singer Jim Carroll (but not THAT Jim Carroll), Unicycle Loves You's debut album has a sense of charm and fun that their later albums increasingly rejected and/or lacked, so they sound less noisy and aggressive here. Still far too chaotic and loose to be called "pop," though. They remind me a lot of a band called The Films, who were active around the same time — only The Films were from Charleston, South Carolina, not Chicago, and most people have probably never heard of them either.
