His second and last studio album, recorded about a year before he keeled over and died at the age of 32, of a heart attack I guess. Apparently he was talking about moving from this label to Stax; that would have been great to hear him with that band, although this band is good, too. This is blues, but it borders on 60s Stax-style soul at times, eg You Belong To Me or Keep Loving Me Baby, a non-blues soul tune that also has a hint of John Lee Hooker-style blues. Both this and West Side Soul are great albums.
