Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. shes a genius
Great singer (same vein as Stevie Nicks) and even better songwriter (raw and honest lyrics). This Ohio native writes about anything, from dueling French poets to creepers that look like Steve Earle. Recommended.
Track Pick: Everything's Gone
Love her voice and I agree good lyrics. This type music is right in my wheelhouse. Outstanding imo MEZ

I think this is her best album. Great voice and the lyrics are great too. I like it more every time I listen.

She grew up on the farm, daughter to a pastor/bar owner/drummer. After she tired of pop country, she dug into Hank Williams III. Then, at 23, she put out this, her third album. I will concede that it suffers from a lack of sonic variety, but she has such a great voice. And these lyrics! She is one of those (un)lucky artists who seems to have an inexhaustible seam of heartache to mine.
