shes a genius
Great singer (same vein as Stevie Nicks) and even better songwriter (raw and honest lyrics). This Ohio native writes about anything, from dueling French poets to creepers that look like Steve Earle. Recommended.

I think this is her best album. Great voice and the lyrics are great too. I like it more every time I listen.

She grew up on the farm, daughter to a pastor/bar owner/drummer. After she tired of pop country, she dug into Hank Williams III. Then, at 23, she put out this, her third album. I will concede that it suffers from a lack of sonic variety, but she has such a great voice. And these lyrics! She is one of those (un)lucky artists who seems to have an inexhaustible seam of heartache to mine.
