Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.3/100, a mean average of 74.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.4.

Still strong, but to be honest, they sound more dated here then they did in the 70s.

The last great album by The Cars containing some of their strongest songs. Magic, Drive and You Might Think are essential 80's pop.

After a few average albums this is easily their best since their debut.

i must confess that it's a matter of taste. i really like this ambitious synth-pop-style. the songs are mainly slick, but also very tuneful and appealing. if you have an aversion against this kind of music you might think i'm crazy. in fact i adore the non-hit-songs more than drive or you might think.

Hits that I remember but until today have not listened to an album in its entirety. Quite a pleasant feeling. You might want to go back to something like the familiar :)

Dunno I always found this record annoying. ("Who's gonna plug your ears/ when you scream." Really?) It just seems to me that at this time of their career, they were just going through the motions.

Hmmm. Does 5 hits and an album produce by Mutt Lange automatically qualify it as a Top 100 album of all time?
While it is currently in my Top 100 it is a matter of time before it isn't. It just sounds dated and if I want to listen to the Cars then it will either be their eponymously titled or Candy-O that I will play. You Might Think and Drive are great songs as too is the title track.
