Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.2/100, a mean average of 70.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.3.

Abba is Abba and expect no more that sweet pop with perfect hooks and vocals.
Pop gold all the way through.

Clássicos da banda que rumava ainda mais para o pop e para o dance.
Classy and catchy. Perfect album.

A great Abba album a big improvement on the previous years THE ALBUM. Full of hit singles and the brilliant opening track As Good As New. Only The King Has Lost His Crown & Lovers don't quite hit the mark so 80/100
Despite ABBA's unfair reputation as a "singles band", the best songs off Voulez-Vous IMO never saw the A-side of a 45. As Good As New, Kisses Of Fire, The King Has Lost His Crown, etc... all ace tunes
Abbas sixth album, "Voulez-Vous", from 1979 was recorded over a period of one year with the title track is actually recorded in Miami USA. Nevertheless, the album is one of the group's most consistent and most successful.
Only a few songs fall into the category of "forgettable" and besides the big hits "Chiquitita", "Voulez-Vous", "Does Your Mother Know", "I Have a Dream" and "Angel Eyes" it has the strong "As Good as New ", which really might have been able to make it as big as" Chiquitita ".
The album is Abba's most funky and disco-inspired, which characterizes the majority of the songs. Though this is not to the point where the characteristic Abba sound is gone.
There are also songs of Abba's well-known musical style, such as "I Have a Dream" and "Chiquitita".
"Does Your Mother Know" is Abba rock as its best. All in all, a beautiful and like always a well produced album from the group.
The bonus-tracks are great additions; especially "Gimme! Gimme" Gimme".

Catchy, fun, perfectly crafted pop music. No depth or angst, but it isn`t needed. Just enjoy.

After Abba, Arrival, and The Album, this is the first Abba album to feature noticeable filler tracks - in particular Kisses of Fire, The King Has Lost His Crown, As Good As New etc etc with only the singles being in the least bit memorable. However, even there I have to admit that I Have A Dream is way too sickly sweet and the music to Chiquita is played too conservatively. If anything this album signals the end of their imperial phase and the beginning of the end.
Abba meets disco! Excluding the bonus tracks, this album produced 5 hits. And then there are the album tracks worthy of mention As Good As New, Kisses Of Fire and Lovers Live A Little Longer. Only The King Has Lost His Crown is a bit dull!
