One of the most influential bands since 1974 or at least the second half of the 70s. When Rock became less interesting and the focus came back on Pop they were the ones to make it a grown up music, that was their fate when their relationships ended and they decided to be sincere about the drama. So they learned from Rocks urgency and immediacy and were able (along with Roxy Music) to turn it into a language of Pop. (Edited)

Love them or hate them there is no denying that Abba are one of the best pop groups of all time. Arrival is still there best but Visitors is also good and those women could have been opera singers.

Yes, it's pop fluff...but, it is pop fluff done to perfection. Say what you will, those songs are damn catchy and those girls can sing!!!!
I might be a classic rock sort of guy but ABBA are brilliant. Put Dancing Queen on & even the dead will get up & dance.

Just take it easy and enjoy the pop perfection. So catchy, so fun. No profound depth, but that can be exhausting all the time. Enjoy the simplicity of ABBA.
