Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.1/100, a mean average of 68.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.2.

Honestly. EJ has not made bad albums ever . and this is one of his best from the eighties.

The album has one of the strongest "Side Ones" in the history of popular music. Unfortunately, its "Side Two" is significantly weaker. Still an essential album. 9/10!

En este disco, Elton John consiguió una calidad comparable a la de sus mejores álbumes de la primera mitad de los 70.

Elton's "comeback" album. 5 tracks are excellent, the rest are decent. I wouldn't say this album has aged as well as his best 70s stuff, but its got some of the best songs of the 80s on it.

A glimmer of life in the midst of his 80s schlock.

Elton changed for the times, and made something that made sense for a few months then became dated. Basically a mess with a few gems on it.

Not great, but worth it for, I'm still standing, and, I guess that's why they call it the blues. The latter is Elton John's best song of the eighties.

Somehow, "The Retreat", a really good song found its way on this mediocre album...it should have been on "Tumbleweed Connection".
