I never really 'got' when "The Call" was often categorized as a CCR (contemporary Christian radio) band - until I re-listened to this album for the first time many years after first purchasing it upon its release. "When" is clearly a Christian song referencing the re-birth of Christ, "For Love" speaks of Christ's eternal quest to bring love to the world, and "Uncovered" closes the album with a testament to the redemptive powers of God.

Let me say, I don't usually enjoy being preached to in my casual listening for entertainment forays and don't know how I obviously missed this when I first listened to it. I like Michael Been's voice and the guitar work that The Call employs, so I guess I was more captivated by the sound over "The Message". So looking past the spiritual lyrics - This still is a The Call album. It still has Michael Been's deep baritone and the ringing guitars and both sound really, really good. I still rate it highly and recommend it even for non-believers like myself.
