Wie nur kann man am frühen Ambros vorbeikommen? Dieses Album war der Durchbruch und, ja, der Höhepunkt. Auch wenn er später weiterhin grossartige Songs schrieb; an dieses Meisterwerk kam er leider nicht mehr heran. Diese Songs sind beseelt von einem melancholischen Wiener Aussenseiter, der nicht mehr recht mag. Da schwankt er zwischen Selbstmord, Aussteigen, Obdachlosigkeit und grossem Besäufnis. Ambros war allen um Jahre voraus und straighter als viele seiner Nachfolger. Dass seine Vorbilder Dylan und Waits waren, macht seinen Verdienst nicht kleiner. Dieses Album war der Killer für alle, die genauso fühlten und doch jeden Tag aufstanden um sich dieses Leben anzutun. Einfach toll! Und schön zu sehen, dass Ambros später zu der sonnigeren Seite des Lebens gefunden hat; wie die meisten von uns auch
