Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 23% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.9/100, a mean average of 72.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

The ovarall album score on this is ridiculous . Come on people this is good shit
Favorite Tracks: In One Ear, Ain't No Rest for the Wicked & James Brown

I like the vocal style... it almost has a rap feel to it. Some solid hits and almost as good as Arctic Monkeys, but there's something missing from it to make it lasting.
Plus I heard them live and felt sorry for them. They sound so terrible.
Cage The Elephant is vastly underrated on this site

A couple of bangers on this album. Especially the first song. Judas is also good, as is Aint No Rest For The Wicked, and James Brown. Gets pretty monotonous at some points, but i'm sure once i start listening to it more it will become less and less so. The most notable moment in my listening experience of this album was probably at about 0:45 seconds in when I realized that Twenty One Pilots is basically just a crappy version of this band.
A better than decent debut album, starts storngly with Ain't No Rest For the Wicked standing out, closely followed by the opener.
I'm guessing he sees this band as an elephant. And he's challenging people to put them in a cage and ruin their musical integrity. I can dig it.

As soon as I heard Ain't No Rest Dor The Wicked on the intro of Borderlands I knew I had to listen to this album. It didn't disappoint.
Not bad, but I wish it was a litte just a little more rockish..
I too really enjoy this record.
