Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Mitch Easter was one of the alt-pop geniuses of the 1980s, constantly working with cool young artists to create crafty albums like Cypress. Let's Active was actually Mitch's band for a brief period. They disappeared but thankfully I have retained their original vinyl albums in my collection.
