Raitt had been around a long time when this album made its appearance on many tops of the year charts. There was plenty of quality simmering on her earlier albums, and this one bottled what had been spread over her catalogue.
The lady deserved a big paycheck. That said this record is a sell-out.

Picked this off Rolling Stone's top 500. First song is really good, and the lyrics hit you. It was such a good beginning that I thought this might be a decent album. But sadly the other 10 or so songs are garbage.
