Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.6/100, a mean average of 72.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.9.

A perfectly okay EP. It's no "Collapse", but it'll do.
Solid concept for an even more solid group of very cool songs. He recorded a lot (if not all) of the instruments by programming midi sequences that were sent to computer arms that would strike drums and cymbals or play the piano. He then recorded the sounds of these acoustic instruments being played by his computer. amazing. out of tune pianos and strange percussion makes this album so dark yet somehow colorful. it makes me imagine what it's like to be a blind person smelling or touching something- everything is total pitch black but some things are still so vivid.
you can also hear the same instruments (i'm assuming also live recordings of midi instruments) on other albums like richard d. james album and druqks
May pale in comparison to 2014's "Syro", but this percussion-focused EP is still a good one that Aphex Twin fans should be pleased with.
