Great debut from Texas singer-songwriter James McMurtry. This debut was produced John Mellencamp, and it provides a great baseline for McMurtry's musical career. I think the great upbeat production compliments McMurtry's songs here and attributes to making this a great listen.
McMurtry has an impressive discography and painstakingly produces quality records, often many years apart. This record still remains a testament to his genius and the best selection in his whole catalog.
