my reaction was over the top. this album has been wandering 'round my #100 spot on my 2015-chart all year (#104 in this moment).
Martintho, I hear ya man, loud and clear. These guys are the "darling duo" of the amerciana world, and like you I am not blown away by any of their albums, regardless of how I want to be. I'll say this though; Milk Carton Kids have got to be one of the best live shows I've ever been to. Their chemistry is incredible and so is their comedic timing. I understand you not liking the album (all though I think your frustration is slightly over the top), but I encourage you to see them live if you get the opportunity. I promise your opinion will be altered.
this is the kind of stuff i love. and i'm a sucker for harmony singing. this is the kind of stuff that really pisses me off. it's so heartbreakingly obvious when you compare this to the really good ones. simon and garfunkel. dylan. this is miles below. they are the stars in this genre... whatever. these guys are the mud. and it pisses me off. why should this be released at all? we all have one in the family who could do this. this is good. every village has a duo like this. a good duo with nice songs. every villager loves them. but there is so many fishes (albums) in the sea these days, and i'm looking for the REAL GOOD stuff. the UNIQUELY good stuff. why do you release this stuff so i would have to spend my valuable time figuring out if this is any good? is it a human right to release your music these days? go find yourselves a job, guys. stop pissing us music-lovers up like this. you are an embarrassment. and did i say that you are very good? you are. but millions are. the problem is that when everybody releases their good albums, you are all blocking up those who are more than just very good. you are the haystack of the music industry. you make it to hard to find all the needles that actually are there today. i was hoping spotify and streaming would help provide getting rid of all this goodness. this flood of above average music. but, nay.
