So it's funny, I looked at Jake Xerxes Fussell and said "ehhh maybe he's more country than folk". I love the album though, might add it in. I also specifically looked at Van Zandt and said the same thing. Might toss him in now too. Also I love John Prine (he should be on this chart) and Josh Ritter is good too, I almost included The Animal Years but decided against it.
I was a little hesitant about all the Avett Brothers, I knew that'd make people not like the chart as much, but I just love them so much, I had to include them.

This is pretty good. I don't like the Avett Brothers, so naturally that puts my total enjoyment of this chart at a disadvantage. Also, idk, "Folk" is such a ridiculously broad definition that I can't help but feel this is more a "Contemporary Folk" chart, or "Modern Folk and it's off shoots - Bob Dylan as THE demarcation point" or something.
Still, do I love most all the records on here? Yep. For sure. And there are some recommendations I can take from here and I shall take from here. So thanks, buddy.
Have you heard the Jake Xerxes Fussell record? I really really like it and it seems like RockyCore to the max, so I think you'll love it too.
Edit: also, you may consider him more country than folk, but I think Townes Van Zandt would fit nicely here. He may already be but I missed him. But yeah, he was about as sweet a folk musician as ever graced this earth. Also Josh Ritter and John Prine and Jason Molina (Songs: Ohia) float your boat?
