Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.4/100, a mean average of 69.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 20.0.

Do not ignore Touchy. It has an absolutely brilliant keyboard-tune. Just listen, how the song is starting. The 20 seconds in the beginning...

I am a big fan of "Hunting High and Low" and especially "Scoundrel Days" but when "Stay On These Roads" came out in 1988 I did not like the album except for "The Living Daylights" and "There's Never A Forever Thing" because many tracks did sound too cheesy to me - especially "Touchy". 30 years later I finally bought the CD and the more I listen to it the more I really start to like it. If you ignore "Touchy" and listen to the rest of the album from the beginning to the end without skips the songs connect very well and you start to appreciate even the less spectacular tracks like "Out of the Blue Comes Green".

No a-ha album can be thought of as totally weak and this album has four UK top 20 singles on it but in terms of a-ha albums, there are much better examples. However, don't dismiss it. "Out Of Blue Comes Green" and "There's Never A Forever Thing" are standout tracks. You can see where Coldplay and Keane got influenced.
