Apaprently, Plant had a whole lot less to offer without the rest of Zep at his side.
I played this tape a lot when travelling up and down the Country back in the early ninties, it always took me back to the concert at the Cornwall Coliseum when i saw Robert Plant and his new band. I like the move towards a more synth based sound than in Led Zeppelin. To be clear I love the Led Zep sound and have all of the Historic LZ albums on CD and vinyl. The album sounds as fresh to me today as it did back in the eighties when I first bought the cassette. I now have a mint vinyl version and it is always a pleasant nostalgic listen. Pledge Pin and Slow Dancer are my top tracks. Considering that this arrived thee years after Led Zeppelin 'In Through the Outdoor' it is clear to see the direction Robert Plant has taken.
Phil Collins did not produce this album. He played on 6 songs.That's all he did.
Not bad album, but a shadow of what he used to release with that other band. Still, enjoyable enough.
An average debut album from Robert Plant not bad needs a few plays to appreciate produced by Phil Collins also features Cozy Powel on a couple of no.s,best tracks 'like I've never been gone','moonlight in Samosa'.
