Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 12% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 75.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

This album has some things going for it. The guitarist, John Du Cann (who later played with Atomic Rooster), is probably better than what most of the other mostly forgotten bands of the time had. There are also a few strong tracks, such as the last two.
But, even the better tracks like “When To Stop” come across as a bit stiff, with some repetitive parts that could have used some improvisation or maybe further development. Another fault I find is the band’s sound...it’s indistinguishable from dozens of other bands from those days.
So, while this album didn’t melt my mind, I’d say it’s at least worth the spin for any early hard rock fan looking to score some tracks. Even if there’s no real gem to be found.
Brilliant rock album with a hint of prog. I'm amazed that no one else knows or rates this masterpiece.
