Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.6/100, a mean average of 76.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.5.

Very good, I like the funky and the lowkey, unaggressive style

Gawd damn, this album is absolutely muther##@@kin outstanding! Herbie and the gang at the top of their game. I'm trying to find an excuse not to put this in my greatest 100 of all time. Big call - well maybe Head Hunters or this...or both...I even love the album artwork lol.

Follow-up to Head Hunters, with the same band except for the drummer. I think the silly title and album art of this one do it a disservice--Head Hunters just looks like it's going to be a cool album, this one looks like it was meant for the cut-out bin. But when it comes to the the actual music, I think this one is maybe even better than Head Hunters, right in that same funky fusion groove. Definitely one of my favorite Herbie albums.

Excellent middle period Hancock album. More mainstream and not as avant garde or challenging as the Sextant/Mwandishi/Crossings era, but still a solid listen.
