The sound of this album is really monotonous -- there is no dynamic range and most of the musical motives on this record are just the same picking pattern slightly paraphrased over and over again. These flaws would not have been nearly as noticeable if the album hadn't been extremely overlong.
With that said, there are some gorgeous moments on this record. Healthy Moon is a great track and Under The Sun and Loose Ends are solid additions to DIIV's repertoire.
Oshin was a far superior record. It was also a slightly samey work, but it had a much dreamier and more captivating sound.

Individually, all of the the tracks here are really good, but there's no dynamic range, and this is about five or six tracks too long, especially if there's no sonic diversity. I love the aesthetic, and the production is top notch, but as an album, it has too many flaws.
Meh, it's ok, sounds like a lot of other things. Felt a lot longer than an hour. Just about worth a listen.
Longer than the mind behind the music could handle. Becomes lukewarm very often and simply cant hold my interest.
